What's on the Disc

The companion CD-ROM contains the source code for the book's programs, plus useful CGI development tools.

Windows 3.1 or NT Installation Instructions

  1. Insert the CD-ROM disc into your CD-ROM drive.

  2. From File Manager or Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.

  3. Type <drive>CDSETUP and press Enter, where <drive> corresponds to the drive letter of your CD-ROM. For example, if your CD-ROM is drive D:, type D:CDSETUP and press Enter.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions in the installation program. Files will be installed to a directory named \CGIDEV unless you choose a different directory during installation.

CDSETUP creates a Windows program manager group called CGI Dev Guide. This group contains icons for exploring the CD-ROM.

Windows 95 Installation Instructions

  1. If Windows 95 is installed on your computer and you have the AutoPlay feature enabled, the Guide to the CD-ROM program starts automatically whenever you insert the disc into your CD-ROM drive.

Macintosh Installation Instructions

  1. Insert the CD-ROM disc into your CD-ROM drive.

  2. When an icon for the CD appears on your desktop, open the disc by double-clicking on its icon.

  3. Double-click on the icon named Guide to the CD-ROM, and follow the directions that appear.
